RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Five people are homeless after a four-alarm brush fire broke out north of Reno on Monday, only a few miles from where a separate brush fire destroyed two mobile homes and several vehicles the day before.

Authorities say two homes were destroyed and a third was partially consumed in the fire reported just before 4 p.m. on the east side of Sun Valley. Three outbuildings and two carports were also burned.

One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation, and rescuers provided oxygen to a resident who needed it after electricity was cut to their home.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of that blaze, as well as the one that destroyed two mobile homes and injured one person in another part of Sun Valley on Sunday afternoon.
