Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The heat is on.

Triple-digit temperatures are expected every day this week and people in the Valley are finding different ways to cope.

Many people gathered around the pool at the M Resort yesterday.

And across town at Sunset Park, a family engaged in a little friendly competition.

The volleyball game on Father's Day is a tradition for the Costa family. But, some of them say that upholding that tradition in triple-digit heat is a little extreme.

The family came prepared though. They brought a tent for shade and a large cooler filled with cool beverages.

They even brought a personal mister for a quick cool down.

For other people who were out in the heat this weekend, it was not by choice.

Father and coach Johnny Olin spent the day making sure his son and his friends would be ready for their first college football practice on Monday.

If you think it was hot this weekend, just wait. Summer officially begins this week on Wednesday, June 20.
