Local museum holds event in honor of World Refugee Day
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- People who came to America looking for a new life, met others in the same situation Saturday.
People forced to flee their homelands were honored for courage, strength and determination.
The event at the Lied Children's Discovery Museum was put on by Catholic Charities in honor of World Refugee Day.
Refugees from different parts of the world participated and talked about how happy they are to be in the United States.
There was also and exhibition featuring interactive areas that encouraged young visitors to consider how it feels to flee home, leave everything behind and face uncertainty.
