Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Three young children were killed after a fire consumed their trailer and now their community is gathering to reflect.
“They were just babies, they never hurt nobody, they never did anything wrong,” said neighbor Mary Peterson.
Earlier in the week, Mary Peterson made plans to have a yard sale. But after the tragedy inside the trailer, she decided to split the money she earns with the families of the victims.
Investigators were back out on the scene, looking for clues, more than 24 hours after the fire began.
Officials said both parents were asleep at the time, but were able to escape the burning trailer on their own.
“The kids were in there and mom and dad made it out okay,” said Peterson. “I don't know, I don't know what to think, but all I know is its sad.”
