Local police handing out "good" tickets for safe driving
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Local law enforcement is trying a new strategy to motivate people to drive safely.
The Department of Public Safety, local police and the Las Vegas 51s are teaming up to reward safe drivers with tickets to a local baseball game. But there's a catch.
State law only allows officers to pull drivers over if they see them violating the law.
Under the new program, officers will stop the driver and in the course of the stop, reward them for making a smart life saving choice as well.
The reward will be a ticket, but instead of a dreaded citation, it could be a ticket to the local 51s baseball game.
The vouchers are good for any game of your choice, except for the 4th of July.
