Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A young woman battling acomeagly or gigantism is telling her painful story to help others who are suffering from the same condition.

Tanya Angus has a tumor next to her pituitary gland that causes her to keep growing.

Treatment hasn't worked but she is working to bring attention to her condition.

Angus recently had the opportunity to interact with others battle the rare condition at this year's acomeagly community conference in Las Vegas.

One of the people who has been inspired by Angus' story is Capt. Ann Barley.

"I am truly a better person for knowing your story and admire your strength and courage and character as you share it with the world," said Barley.

The Army captain gave Angus every single award that she has received over her last eight years of military service to show her appreciation.
