Insomniac's main concern is and always has been the safety of our guests, and we take into careful consideration anything that might jeopardize their experience or safety.

Today is a new day, and the weather is behaving. The event will continue as planned with doors opening at 7 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: Anyone with a Saturday single day ticket is welcome to come back tonight and continue the party with us. Just bring your tickets with you to any entrance. If you do not still have your Saturday ticket please visit the Flavorus Will Call tent with your credit card and I.D.

We are spending every moment right now creating as many special surprises for you at the festival tonight as we can.

We look forward to seeing everyone tonight for a very special closing night of Electric Daisy Carnival 2012!

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- High winds forced authorities to shutdown the Electric Daisy Carnival, early Sunday morning.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the winds and general concern for guest safety prompted the shutdown.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday fans were moved away from the main stage areas and admission into all gates was suspended, as EDC staff and public safety officials monitored the conditions, hoping to resume normal event activities.

However, at 2:45 a.m. it was determined the winds would not diminish, and the remainder events for the night would be canceled.

Fans were then advised of the decision and police began exiting fans from the venue.

Entry of new fans was stopped and inbound traffic was managed by the Nevada Highway Patrol and Metro.

"Insomniac shares our fans' disappointment that weather conditions changed the second night of the Electric Daisy Carnival experience," said Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella. "Our top priority has always been fan safety and we expect that Mother Nature will be more cooperative Sunday, as we prepare for an amazing day three."

EDC is set to continue as scheduled on Sunday, with gates opening at 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. Monday.

Throughout the Saturday festivities, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday, the following cases were reported through Metro:

  • 4 misdemeanor citations
  • 4 misdemeanor arrests
  • 12 felony arrests (narcotics related)
  • 2 traffic accidents
  • 160 medical calls (3 transported to area hospitals)

Metro also said there were zero DUI arrests related to alcohol or drugs.

More than 90,000 people were in attendance at EDC Saturday night, into Sunday morning.
