Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Last minute-preps were underway for the Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Thursday.

The music festival will begin Friday, June 8 at 7 p.m. The carnival will feature hundreds of performers and will highlight world-famous DJ's.

The annual music festival (now in the Las Vegas valley for a second year) is known for it's costume clad adults, electronic music, multimedia displays, and all-night party.

This year the elaborate production, done by Insomniac, will welcome more than 350,000 ticket holders during the 3-day event.

It's not just an earful, there are also art sculptures throughout the venue; things like: a giant baby statue, light-up dandelions, and electric daisies.

This year water fill-up stations have been added and there are 4 cooling stations to combat the number one worry: dehydration.

Also new this year, a 7th stage has been added that will feature up and coming artists in the electronic dance music scene.

Another unique aspect to EDC 2012 is Insomniac productions has partnered with Rock the Vote to create "Spin the Vote."

Spin the Vote is a campaign to get more young adults involved in the 2012 elections.
