Indictment issued in bloody Las Vegas home slaying
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 22-year-old Las Vegas man has been indicted on charges that could get him the death penalty in the sexual assault and killing of a mother and daughter and the near-fatal hammer attack on their husband and father.
Attorneys for Bryan Devonte Clay Jr. didn't immediately respond to messages about a 10-count indictment hand up Wednesday in Clark County District Court.
It also accuses Clay of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 50-year-old woman on a quiet street a few hours before the April 15 home invasion in the West Las Vegas neighborhood.
Clay is jailed, awaiting arraignment June 13.
A 9-year-old and his 4-year-old brother were spared in the home invasion attack. It came to light the next day, when the older boy told officials at his school what happened.
