Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Clark County firefighters responded to the scene of a fire in the 1800 block of Tremolite Avenue, near the 215 and Spencer Street, at about 9:20 p.m. Monday night.

The two occupants of the home smelled smoke and were able to escape on their own after discovering the house was on fire.

When the fire department arrived, the roof of the two-story house was already fully involved.

It was a difficult fire to fight because of the strong winds at the time. Thirty-five fire department personnel responded to the blaze.

The home is a total loss. Damage is estimated at $250,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
