Man dead after Tuesday's rollover crash on I-15
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A California man died from his injuries following a rollover crash on Interstate 15 near Silverado Ranch on Tuesday.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said the crash happened just after noon on Tuesday.
The driver of a Toyota 4-Runner, 21-year-old Naoki Furihata, was driving north when he veered to avoid another car making an unsafe lane change. Furihata overcorrected to the right, flipping the 4-Runner and landing it back on its wheels. The 4-Runner caught fire.
Furihata, along with his 60-year-old male passenger and 53-year-old female passenger, were taken to University Medical Center. Furihata, who was a La Verne, California resident, was pronounced dead on Wednesday evening.
NHP says the the driver of the other vehicle involved was not hurt and drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
