County officials warn of green pool dangers
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- If you know about a green pool in your neighborhood, Clark County would like to know as well.
In many cases, green pools are in the backyards of empty homes.
Any pool with stagnant water is a breeding ground for bugs and mosquitoes that carry disease.
"The green pool shows you that there's a problem, and the problem doesn't go away, the mosquitos and the larvae get into the pools and create West Nile Virus," said Susan Brager, a Clark County official.
If you know of a pool that needs to be drained, call the county. They say they can take care of it, usually within 24 hours. It will cost the homeowner between $250 and $400.
