Suspect in double slaying appointed new attorney
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Bryan Clay, the suspect in the double slaying of a mother and a daughter, was appointed a new attorney this morning.
Clay was appointed a new attorney because the Public Defenders Office represented one of the victims in a previous case and has a conflict of interest.
Clay is accused of killing 38-year-old Ignancia Martinez and her 10-year-old daughter on April 16.
He is also accused of attacking the husband and father of the victims.
The bodies of the mother and daughter were discovered after a young boy went to his elementary school and told school officials that his mother and sister were dead and that his father was injured.
Clay is also facing domestic violence charges related to an ex-girlfriend and charges resulting from an assault on another woman.
Tony Sgro was appointed the new attorney for Clay.
