Man who confessed to murder identified

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 19-year-old man is under arrest after he walked into the Clark County Detention Center yesterday and confessed to murder.

Ricardo Perez  walked into the CDC shortly before 1 p.m. and told CDC personnel that he had killed someone.

Homicide detectives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the CDC and launched an investigation.

Several hours later, a body was located near Mission and College Drives in Henderson in a desert area.

Perez has booked into the detention center on the charges of battery with a deadly weapon, murder with a deadly weapon and numerous unrelated traffic warrants.

The identity of the victim and the exact cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner's office.
