Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A brutal crime tore apart the Martinez family when a mother and daughter were attacked and killed. Now, a local company is donating a free alarm system to help give the surviving family members some peace of mind.

"This will help Arturo to be calm," says sister Gaudia Martinez-Seal. Arturo and his sons have moved in with Gaudia and her immediate family.

Gaudia tells Action News that her brother is doing much better. She says Arturo now spends five days a week going to rehab undergoing physical, cognitive, and speech therapy. His oldest son, Christopher, is seeing a psychiatrist.

"He's trying really to be a strong and a strong dad for the kids," says Gaudia about her brother.

Gaudia says the two surviving boys are what keep Arturo motivated in rehabilitation.

Shield Fire & Security is hoping to help the Martinez family feel safer at home after the home invasion and murder.

"We went ahead and donated a full on security system," says Scott Gagliano from Shield Fire & Security.

The local company saw the Martinez story on the news and felt compelled to help.

"It's something we just had to do," Gagliano said.

The alarm system installed throughout the home. They'll be able to be activate the alarm system using a smart phone. But, its best offering is peace of mind.
