Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash on Boulder Highway
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Boulder Highway near Nellis.
Police said some sort of traffic problem caused the motorcyclist to tip over in the intersection. A dump truck proceeding through the intersection ran over the motorcyclist. Witnesses said the driver of the dump truck got out, looked at the motorcyclist, then got back in the truck and fled the scene.
Authorities searched for a dark-colored dump truck that headed northbound on Nellis or Boulder Highway from the scene of the crash. A few hours later, police got a call from a driver who said he thought he had run someone over. Officers questioned him and searched his vehicle for evidence. No one has been arrested yet.
Boulder Highway was shut down in both directions as police investigated and crews cleared the debris.
The motorcyclist has not yet been identified.
