Home slayings defendant due in court on other case
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The 22-year-old accused of sexually assaulting and killing a Las Vegas mother and daughter and nearly killing their husband and father with a hammer is due in court in two unrelated domestic violence cases.
Bryan Devonte Clay Jr. is due for an evidentiary hearing Tuesday before a Las Vegas judge who'll decide if there's enough evidence to send the domestic battery, robbery and child abuse cases to state court for trial.
Clay is accused of attacking his pregnant 16-year-old ex-girlfriend during arguments in February and March.
Clay remains jailed without bail on more serious charges that could get him the death penalty in the bloody April 15 attacks and slayings at a home. A 9-year-old and his 4-year-old brother were spared.
Investigators say that was an unprovoked, random attack.
