Stabbing leads police to apparent sex club
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police are investigating a beating and stabbing that happened early Sunday morning at what police call a pay-for-sex business near Spring Mountain Road and Polaris.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was called to the scene just before 6 a.m. Sunday. A European man was taken to University Medical Center after he was found stabbed multiple times outside a business that is known as a "clip joint."
According to police, a "clip joint" is a business where cabs take people who are looking for sex. Cab drivers get a kickback from the business for bringing customers to their location.
At the business, the customer is then promised more attention if they give more money. At some point, the customer is then kicked out of the business and told not to call police because prostitution is illegal.
Metro police have worked to shut down several fake businesses recently. Police say this location was new and hadn't been investigated yet.
At least 6 people are under arrest facing several charges including racketeering and conspiracy. After obtaining a warrant, police began removing evidence from the business. They will use this evidence to continue their investigation which may lead to more arrests.
The European man who was stabbed is still at UMC.
