1 hospitalized after vehicle hits wheelchair
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A man in an electric wheelchair is in the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car at about 6:51 p.m. Wednesday at West Charleston Boulevard and Community College Drive.
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, 28-year-old Jamie Bullock was driving a 2007 Lexus LS460 east on Charleston when a 63-year-old man in a wheelchair entered into the intersection from the southwest corner on a red pedestrian signal.
The Lexus entered the intersection on a green traffic signal and ran into the wheelchair's left side.
The man in wheelchair was knocked to the ground and was transported to University Medical Center Trauma with serious injuries.
Bullock remained on the scene of the accident.
The accident is still being investigated by LVMPD's Accident Investigation Section.
