Parking garage at O'Sheas Casino imploded on schedule
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The parking garage at O'Sheas casino on the Las Vegas Strip was imploded on schedule early Tuesday morning.
As soon as the doors closed Monday on the iconic Irish-themed casino, final preparations began to implode its seven-story parking garage.
The parking garage was imploded on schedule at 2:30 as part of the plans to make room for the $550 million Project Linq.
The retail, dining and entertainment complex is being built by Caesars Entertainment Corp. It will be anchored by a 550-foot observation wheel and is expected to open in 2013.
A scaled-down version of O'Sheas will be part of Project Linq.
The construction of Project Linq will create 3,000 construction jobs.
When the complex is complete late next year, it is expected to generate 1,800 permanent jobs.
