Court hearing reset in bloody Las Vegas home slayings
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- An initial court appearance was rescheduled for a 22-year-old man jailed in the brutal sex attacks and hammer slayings of a Las Vegas mother and her daughter, and the serious wounding of their husband and father.
A Las Vegas judge reviewing charges including murder, assault with a weapon and sexual assault in the April 15 attacks scheduled Bryan Clay to appear in court Wednesday morning.
Ignacia Martinez and her 10-year-old daughter, Karla Martinez, were killed in the attacks. Husband and father Arturo Martinez was left with head injuries so severe he can't talk with police.
A 9-year-old boy reported the deaths to school officials April 16. He and his 4-year-old brother were spared in the attack.
Clay is also accused of raping a 50-year-old woman hours before the home invasion.
