Woman killed in officer-involving shooting
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has confirmed reports of an officer-involved shooting in the Valley.
Police responded to a call for a stolen vehicle around 1:45 a.m. Saturday morning on Jones Boulevard, near Smoke Ranch Road.
Officers stopped the vehicle with a female driver inside.
After a standoff with responding officers, the woman stepped out of the car and pointed a gun at police. Five officers discharged their firearms and struck the suspect multiple times. She was reported dead on the scene.
The identity of the suspect has not been released.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.
