Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are continuing their investigation into the double homicide that was discovered Monday morning.

At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Lt. Clint Nichols with the Violent Crimes Section said, "While no homicide is typical, this crime scene will take our forensic folks up to several days to process. The crime scene is the entire inside of the house and the work that has to be done to process the scene is detailed."

LVMPD was contacted by the Clark County School District Police Department after a 9-year-old boy came to school and said his mother and sister were dead at home.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Robin Street and found a mother and her 10-year-old daughter dead, due to blunt force trauma. The father/husband was critically injured and is currently in the hospital.

At this time, the LVMPD does not have any suspects and has not made any arrests in the case.

Anyone with information is urged to call the LVMPD Homicide Section at (702) 385-5555.
