Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Investigators spent a second straight day at the Las Vegas home where a mother and daughter were found dead and the speculation continues to grow.

The Clark County coroner's office has identified the mother as 38-year-old Ignancia Martinez, known to family and friends as Yadira Martinez.

The little girl found dead has been identified as 10-year-old Karla Martinez.

An autopsy has determined that Karla died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries.

Many residents in the neighborhood near Rancho and Washington are wondering: where is the father of the household?

Family friends tell Action News that he is in the hospital with severe injuries to his head.

"I don't see how he could do something like that to his family," speculated neighbor Tamarra Walker. "They looked like a happy family."

Police have not connected the father to the case, and there is no confirmation that he has been admitted to any area hospitals.

Records identify Arturo Martinez as the homeowner of the Robin Street residence.

On Monday, investigators did confirm that a man had been pulled from the home covered in blood.

"I see the guy play with her and the babies. I see happy family," recalled neighbor Anna Gonzalez.

The investigation began when a 9-year-old elementary student showed up at school and told officials that his mom and sister were dead at home.

Police rushed to the home and found the two victims dead inside. Police also found a 4-year-old boy unharmed in the home.

Authorities have not made any arrests but insist that the public should not be worried about a dangerous killer on the loose.
