Teen killed in crash on Centennial Center Boulevard
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A teen was killed in an early morning crash on Centennial Center Boulevard.
It happened around 4 a.m. Saturday, south of Azure Drive.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department says Zackery Richardson, 18, of Las Vegas was driving north on Centennial, when he lost control and began sliding sideways. The car crossed over the median and the passenger side hit a palm tree.
The passenger in the car, a 17-year-old male from Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Richardson was taken to University Medical Center Trauma with serious injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
This is the 40th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2012.
