City Walk event in North Las Vegas focuses on small business owners
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce held its first City Walk event of the year yesterday.
Lynn Sloan from the Chamber of Commerce and Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown visited business owners like Joe Mercado.
Mercado's family has had an auto salvage business in North Las Vegas. But now, they are moving into recycling and he is trying to get the word out.
Sloan and Goynes-Brown spent the morning walking from business to business.
Chamber officials know that it is tough for small business owners in the current economy and they are hoping that the City Walk program will let them know that they are not alone.
The city plans to have a City Walk every quarter, focusing on a different city ward each time.
