Local Jewish Federation donates books to students
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Hundreds of Clark County residents students a gift Monday as the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas hosted the Tribefest National Young Leadership Conference for the second year in a row.
Volunteers stopped by Paradise Elementary School and handed out book bags, each containing four or five books.
Their donations were made possible by the PJ Library and support from Tribefest participants.
"Literacy is so important, without good reading skills students can't perform in school and therefore they won't graduate," Elliot Karp with the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas said. "We wanted the 1400 participants to do something as a good deed as community servants."
