Police identify officer involved in weekend shooting at the Rio
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The officer involved in the March 11 officer-involved shooting in the parking garage at the Rio hotel-casino has been identified as Officer Raymond C. Steiber III.
Officer Steiber is 25 years old and has been employed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department since September of 2006. He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division, Downtown Area Command.
Five people total were shot Sunday in two separate shootings. It began in the garage at the Rio where three people were shot.
Later, two more people were shot at the University Medical Center.
Police believe that the shootings were gang related.
