Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) --  The new $2.4 billion Terminal 3 project at McCarran International Airport is scheduled to open June 27 and will become the new concourse for international flights.

The new terminal includes 14 gates, a ticketing lobby, its own baggage claim and a 6,000-space parking garage. The nearly two-million-square-foot building will help to alleviate pressure that's been put on Terminal One, and allow more flights in and out of Las Vegas.

"With the hotel rooms that have been added since 2007, if we didn't bring Terminal 3 online when the economy recovered, we would not be able to bring enough passengers to fill those hotel rooms," said Director, Randall Walker.

Clark County Commissioners approved more than $600,000 for the grand opening celebration, which will include a 5k race on the Terminal 3 roadway and an art exhibition.
