2 Las Vegas children killed in accident near Baker
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two children, 9-year-old Thurgood Marshall and 5-year-old Ariyana Daniel, were killed in a car accident at about 11:12 p.m. Sunday on I-15 near Baker, Calif.
The children were riding in a 2012 Nissan Altima driven by their 25-year-old mother.
According to a police report, the mother was driving at a high rate of speed when she ran into the rear end of a tractor-trailer driven by a 47-year-old man from Riverside, Calif.
The mother sustained moderate injuries but her children, who were not properly restrained, were killed.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. The name of the mother has not been released.
