Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - The kindness of complete strangers around the valley is helping a single mom and her two children get back on their feet after losing everything in a fire.
We first introduced you to Carolin Coultier on Tuesday, after a fire destroyed her apartment, near Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road.
That story prompted a lot of Action News viewers to come through with donations.
"When you hear something like that on the news, we realized instead of spending extra money on things we want to buy, or things we want to do, let's help out this family who just went through such a hardship," says Hector Davila.
Hector - and his wife, Lisette - are leading efforts to get Carolin and her children the basics they need. They're reaching out to friends and coworkers for donations, and buying a lot of supplies for the family with their own money.
Carolin, who used all the money she had to pay for a new apartment, says their help has made all the difference.
"They're helping me, and they don't even know me," she says. "It has really touched my heart. I cannot explain how blessed I am to have these people."
Others who are stepping up to help, wanted to remain anonymous. But, we're told that beds, furniture and more clothes are on the way to Carolin's this weekend.
