Woman facing DUI after man hit on 95 near Cheyenne
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The Nevada Highway Patrol says a Nevada woman faces a driving under the influence charge after her car struck and badly injured a man who was refueling his vehicle beside a Las Vegas freeway.
Trooper Loy Hixson says the 52-year-old man was taken in critical condition to University Medical Center in Las Vegas after the crash a little before 9 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 95 near Cheyenne Avenue. He's expected to survive.
Authorities say the man was putting gasoline into his Dodge van when he and the vehicle were hit by a four-door Cadillac sedan. Two people inside the van escaped injury.
Hixson says the 65-year-old Cadillac driver failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.
Names weren't immediately made public.
