Girlfriend arrested for stabbing boyfriend Tuesday morning
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The girlfriend of the man who died this morning after being stabbed at an apartment in the 3700 block of Hazelwood Street has been arrested for his murder.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were summoned to the residence this morning on what was initially portrayed as a home invasion.
Upon arrival, police discovered a 25-year-old male who was suffering from an apparent stab wound. Medical personnel transported the victim to Sunrise Hospital where he died.
LVMPD homicide detectives responded and conducted a preliminary investigation. This investigation led to the arrest of the victim's girlfriend, 29-year-old Chamel Smith.
Smith was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and charged with murder with a deadly weapon.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending autopsy and notification of next of kin by the coroner's office.
