Classmates remember 10-year-old killed by gunshot
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- 10-year-old Kameron Asgari died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound inside his home on Tuesday. Now, his fifth-grade classmates at Helen Jydstrup Elementary School are talking about how they'll remember Kameron.
"He was smart, intelligent, and he had lots of friends," Devin, a friend of Kameron's, said.
It's unclear whether Kameron's death was accidental. Police say they're investigating the death as a possible suicide.
Detectives have not released information as to whether there were adults in the house at the time of the shooting, or the circumstances that led a 10-year-old to get his hands on a deadly weapon.
The school is sending a letter home to parents on Thursday.
"Kameron will always be remembered as part of our school family," the letter reads. "And our staff and students will miss him."
