Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The wife of the man shot and killed by police early Monday morning has identified him as Stanley L. Gibson.

Gibson's wife, Rhonda, tells Action News her husband was an Army veteran in his 40s suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Police were called to respond to an attempted break-in late Sunday night at the Alondra condominium complex near North Rainbow Boulevard and Smoke Ranch Road.

When they arrived, the suspect had left the scene. While police were there, Gibson returned to the scene and rammed his car as police were attempting to stop him.

One officer fired multiple shots, killing Gibson.

Police said no officers were injured. The officer who shot Gibson was placed on paid administrative leave, standard procedure for police-involved shootings. He has not yet been identified.

Action News will continue to update this story as new information becomes available.
