Alleged drunk driver behind bars as memorial for trick-or-treater grows
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A family is mourning the loss of their daughter after she was killed by an alleged drunk driver while trick-or-treating on Halloween.
12-year-old Faith Love died at the hospital after being hit by a driver near Sahara and Hualapai.
The driver, 41-year-old Justin Caramanica, was arrested on DUI charges and reportedly admitted to drinking and taking prescription drugs before driving that night.
Witnesses described the scene of the crash as "chaotic."
"We were all confused," Latausha Pitchford said. "There was this precious little girl lying in the street just lifeless."
The crash site hosted a growing memorial on Tuesday as the community remembered the middle school student.
Caramanica is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
