Police ID man shot by officers in Henderson
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Police have identified the robbery suspect shot by officers at an upscale shopping center in Henderson on Monday morning.
Authorities say 60-year-old Anthony Rogers of Henderson robbed a pharmacy at 3041 W. Horizon Ridge Parway at about 11:35 a.m.
Two officers responding to the scene saw the suspect's car turning onto Green Valley Parkway about ten minutes later.
A motorcycle officer stopped traffic to help the other officers.
The robbery suspect failed to pull over for officers, and pointed a gun out of his window and fired at the motorcycle officer.
He then continued driving to a traffic circle. When he got out of his car, he fired at officers. Five officers fired back at him, injuring the suspect.
Rogers was taken to Sunrise Hospital's Trauma Center for treatment.
Authorities said the motorcycle officer suffered a "very minor injury" in the shooting, and no one else was injured in the incident.
The Henderson Police Department placed the five officers involved on paid administrative leave pending an investigation, which is routine procedure in these cases.
The officers' names will be released Wednesday.
