Police return fire at gun-wielding robbery suspect
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Five police officers returned fire at a robbery suspect who started shooting at a Henderson shopping area on Monday morning.
Henderson police said officers were called to the scene of a robbery near The District at about 11 a.m. They saw the robbery suspect in his car and began a quick chase.
The robbery suspect pulled inside The District near Green Valley Parkway and Interstate 215. He jumped out of his car with a gun and fired at police.
Five officers returned fire, hitting the suspect. He was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition was not immediately known.
Police said one motorcycle officer was slightly wounded and taken to the hospital. None of the officers were seriously injured. They will be placed on routine paid administrative leave.
Authorities said this marks the second officer-involved shooting in Henderson this year.
