United flight to Vegas diverted after passenger disturbance
Las Vegas, NV -- United Airlines flight 223 was diverted on it's way to Las Vegas after a passenger reportedly tried to open a side door mid-flight.
Flight 223 was scheduled to fly from Washington, DC's Dulles International Airport to Las Vegas but had to be diverted following the disturbance.
Denver International Airport spokesman Jeff Green says that United Flight 223 was diverted into Denver at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, and police who met the plane at the gate took the passenger into custody.
Green said the police were interviewing the passenger Saturday night but did not know if the man would be charged.
Other passengers on the flight were also interviewed before the plane was allowed to continue to Las Vegas.
