A Las Vegas medical marijuana business is opening three new locations.

Essence says it's now planning to open a medical marijuana store near Tropicana Avenue and Lindell Road.
13 Action News got a tour of the facility before their grand opening.  Co-owner Armen Yemenidjian says their displays will be filled with nearly 30 different strains of cannabis by the time they open.

One of the ways they plan to be different from other dispensaries throughout the valley is through the variety of products they offer.  Yemenidjian says sometimes their patients are older, suffering from arthritis or even chronic pain, and they may not be comfortable with some of the more traditional forms of cannabis.  He says they'll have several unique products for all kinds of patients, including lip balm, capsule pills, bath bombs, honey sticks, and "canna-butter."

"We're actually working with a chef right now to create recipes, so when you buy our canna-butter, you'll have recipes to go along with it," says Yemenidjian.

Another way the dispensary says they're different is because they have hired a full-time nurse to assist their patients through the treatment process.

"She will actually meet with patients on a one-on-one basis to help them with their dosing and their best practices," says Yemenidjian.

Essence will also have a second location on Las Vegas Boulevard. This building is the first medical marijuana operation on the Las Vegas Strip.

"We assume that a majority of that patient population will come from the reciprocity patients from other states," says Yemenidjian.

Essence says it's also planning a location in Henderson and a new cultivation center.

The first location on Tropicana will have their grand opening Feb. 17, and will be open to patients.

The other two locations will open in the next couple months.
