Two Las Vegas police officers were transported following a crash Wednesday evening.

The crash was reported around 6:20 p.m. in the 3600 block of San Antonio Avenue, which is near Carey Avenue and Pecos Road, involving a unmarked police car and a citizen vehicle. Police said a Chevrolet Tahoe went through a stop sign and T-boned the police vehicle.

The passenger officer of the police vehicle witnessed the driver of the Chevrolet exit the vehicle and grab a 3-year-old from the car before fleeing. The officer was able to catch up with the driver and put him under arrest.

The Chevrolet driver, identified as 35-year-old David Olivas of North Las Vegas, faces a felony charge of hit-and-run and a misdemeanor charge of DUI. He also faces a child endangerment charge.

Neither the driver or child was injured. The 3-year-old was released to her mother.

The two officers were taken to UMC Trauma. The officers are reported in good condition. The driving officer sustained broken ribs.

Las Vegas police's Fatal Detail responded to the scene.
