Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air has announced plans to build a beachfront resort in western Florida.

The Sunseeker Resort is set to open in early 2020 in Port Charlotte, Florida. It is estimated to cost $600 million to build.

Allegiant has hired the Las Vegas architect who designed the JW Marriott in Summerlin and Resorts World, under construction on the Las Vegas Strip, for this project.
