People in Pahrump were worried about water waste in their community so they called us.
13 Action News went all the way to Pahrump after a viewer sent us video of water pouring onto the street.
We set out to get answers. A few calls led us to the Great Basin Water Company.
Their spokesman, Tom Oakley, said they are bringing a new well online and this spillage is part of that process. They put extra chlorine in the water before bringing the new well online to get out the bacteria from construction.
They said they try not to disrupt people, but their primary objective is to make sure the water is safe to drink. It is part of the "flushing" process, which is standard with a new well.
The flushing is scheduled to be complete Tuesday afternoon.
