A single mom says she is out $250 after her car was unfairly towed, after she says the apartment management told her the vehicle wouldn't be.

Things at Oasis Meadows Apartments, near Nellis Boulevard and Desert Inn Road, had been good for Kendra Ruckman.

"Normally it's been very nice, I haven't had too many weird problems," said Ruckman.

But that changed recently.

"I got a sticker on my car on Sept. 15, I believe, and it said I had 24 hours to fix my oil leak," Ruckman explained.

Ruckman said her car is old but there's nothing wrong with it, so she called the office at her complex.

"And they're like, 'OK, don't worry about it, we'll make sure that they tow truck company just leaves you alone,'" Ruckman recalled for 13 Action News.

Things were fine for 44 days, until the tow company came back and towed her car. It was towed, despite what she says management told her.

We went to talk with management at Oasis Meadows. They asked us to email their corporate office. We didn't hear back, so we called them too.

They never returned our phone calls, and Ruckman is still looking for answers.
