A Coronado High School student said her boyfriend became her hero the night of the mass shooting.
Olivia Vizzi,15, was attending the Route 91 festival with her boyfriend Nick Campbell,16, when the gunshots rang out.
Vizzi said Campbell jumped on top of her to protect her, then was shot in the shoulder.
"He took a bullet for me. I can't thank him enough," Vizzi said.
Campbell said he made sure Vizzi made it over a barricade. He stayed behind.
"There was a dead body next to be so I hid under it for a little while," Campbell said.
Campbell is expected to be okay, although the bullet hit his lung and broke two of his ribs.
His friends on the basketball team at Coronado High School have rallied together to raise more than $20,000 for his medical bills through Go Fund Me.
