Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen delivered his final State of the City Address on Thursday at Green Valley Ranch hotel-casino.

Hafen's address highlighted accomplishments from 2016 and throughout his tenure and outlined his vision for the future of the community he has served in public office since 1987.

He said upcoming plans include the new Community Education Advisory Board and the improvements in Henderson's health care opportunities, which includes a new hospital that opened last year. It's part of the Union Village Project, which will also have exercise facilities, family and senior housing, along with retail and entertainment.

Hafen also told the audience that two Chik-Fil-A restaurants will open in Henderson this year and the city's best days are yet to come.

The luncheon, which was hosted by the City of Henderson and the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, also included remarks by Henderson Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board Tim Brooks.

Members of the Henderson City Council were in attendance at the State of City and were joined by state and local officials, as well as business and community leaders, including the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
