Although most holiday travel took place on Wednesday, there are still people on the roads today. More than 47 million people are expected to travel over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Those who are driving will probably appreciate the fact that gas prices have dropped dramatically. In fact, they are at their lowest across the nation since 2008. The national average is currently $2.06, according to AAA. The average on Thanksgiving in 2014 was $2.80.

Traffic was definitely lighter than usual Thursday morning on the roads in the Las Vegas valley. Drivers should be aware though that traffic will increase throughout the day and everyone should make sure to give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations.
