For many people in the Las Vegas valley, they have no interest in shopping on Thanksgiving Day. Instead, they prefer to spend their time with their friends, family and sometimes even strangers.

Action News visited one such family on Thursday. Janell Olson told us that Thanksgiving dinner is a labor of love for her and her stepdaughter, Paige DiPietro, and that it takes two days to cook everything for the meal.

Olson admits that sometimes things get a little messy and chaotic, but she wouldn't have it any other way.

About 20 people will gather around the tables at the family's home on Thanksgiving to enjoy turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and more.

In addition to all of the great food, there will also be music and singing and football.
