A former music teacher at Somerset Academy has been arrested in connection with a lewdness investigation.
The investigation stemmed from incidents that occurred in October of 2012 and were reported in June of 2014. Allegations were made that William Crawford, who is now 49, had inappropriate physical contact with two 12-year-old female students at the school's Centennial Parkway campus.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Crawford two weeks ago. He was located and arrested on Feb. 8. He was booked into the Las Vegas City jail on two counts of lewdness with a minor under the age of 14.
Anyone with information about the incidents or other incidents involving Crawford are aksed to call the North Las Vegas Police Department at 702-633-9111.

Recently, Somerset Academy of Las Vegas was informed that a former employee, William Crawford, was arrested on two counts of lewdness with a minor under the age of 14. William Crawford was employed for less than three months at the North Las Vegas campus during the first half of the 2012-2013 school year. During his very brief employment with Somerset Academy of Las Vegas and at the time his employment ended, the school was unaware of any claims against Mr. Crawford or any police investigation.
At this time our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by these unfortunate circumstances. Somerset Academy of Las Vegas and its Administrators will take active steps to provide support to those who may have been involved."
