Apple loses Japanese lawsuit against Samsung
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Apple won its patent fight against Samsung in the U.S. but the courts in Japan have a different opinion about some new claims.
A Tokyo district court ruled that Samsung did not infringe on Apple's patents for its iPhone and iPad. That case focused on technology used to make the Galaxy smartphones and the Galaxy tablet, which Apple says was copied. The judge threw out Apple's $1.27 million claim and ordered the tech giant to pay the costs of the lawsuit. Apple has 30 days to file an appeal.
